Above all else, we adhere to the South African Press Council’s Code of Ethics for Print and Online Media, which states:
“The media exist to serve society. Their freedom provides for independent scrutiny of the forces that shape society, and is essential to realising the promise of democracy. It enables citizens to make informed judgments on the issues of the day, a role whose centrality is recognised in the South African Constitution.”
If you haven’t done so already, please review the South African Press Council’s Code of Ethics for Print and Online Media, here. Any writer who intentionally transgresses this code will no longer have an opportunity to produce content for TheSouthAfrican.
Any content submitted which falls outside of the Press Council’s Code will immediately be disregarded.
