How to Embed posts in article

As a journalist, you would know that embeds are a great way, apart from your copy, to keep your readers engaged as they have more things to look at and maybe even watch. Here’s how you should embed posts from X (formerly known as Twitter), YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

X and YouTube: In WordPress, you will select the “embed” block from the “add block” list. Once there, you will go to the post on X or the video on YouTube and copy the URL of that particular post. Paste the URL into the embed block and click “embed”. It’s really that simple.

Facebook and Instagram: These two platforms are slightly more complicated to embed from but 100% doable and you’ll get the hang of it in no time. From the “add block” list, you will search for the “Custom HTML” block rather than the “embed” block. Once there, you will go to the post on Facebook or Instagram that you would like to embed, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the post and click “embed”. You will then copy that embed code and paste it into the “Custom HTML” block in WordPress. It will look like a bunch of code or javascript but all you need to do is click “preview” next to “HTML” and your post should appear
